Once Upon a Time in Philadelphia

In the decades of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s life seemed simpler. Cell phones, personal computers and big screen color TVs were a long way off. In most families the father was the bread winner, mom ruled the house, and the kids spent most of their time outdoors playing games and having adventures.

Thomas Edison High School at 7th and Lehigh Aves. in north Philly. I attended school there in 1958-1961. The building has since been demolished (2012-2013) and the site is now a shopping center.
